Dr. Becky Ellis is currently a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University. She received her PhD in health and human performance with a specialization in sport and exercise psychology from the University of Florida. Her primary research objective is to understand and promote physical activity participation among inactive populations. This includes the study of theoretical determinants of physical activity, as well as the development, implementation, and translation of interventions to promote physical activity. She is the creator of Desire2Move, an 8-week, digitally delivered program that incorporates Wellness Champions and team-based approaches to encourage university employees to meet federal physical activity guidelines. Currently, Becky is an Associate Editor for Research Quarterly in Exercise and Sport and an Editorial Board member for Translational Behavioral Medicine. She is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as an avid tennis player and fan.
